Yes, in Somerset we do have both refuge and safe-house accommodation. However, many men and women may need to leave the area. The Somerset Integrated Domestic Abuse Service can help provide support solutions tailored to the individual, and this may or may not include accessing refuge.

Are there services for male victims or lesbian, gay, bisexual transgender victims of domestic abuse in Somerset?
Yes, the Somerset Integrated Domestic Abuse Service will support victims of any gender or sexuality. Any victim of any ethnicity can also be referred, and there is also NO upper age limit.
What are the opening hours for the Somerset Domestic Abuse Support Helpline?
You can phone the helpline on 0800 69 49 999 and it’s answered by trained Somerset Integrated Abuse Service staff as follows:
- Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm
- Saturday and Sunday 9am to 1pm
- Outside of these hours, you can call the National Domestic Violence Helpline (operated by Women’s Aid and Refuge) on 0808 2000 24/7.
